This is the old version of the Diversions page I had up when we lived in Coon Rapids, MN, preserved for posterity! :-) I'll put up a newer Collierville version when I get some time - and when we get the Media Room completed.
I have several diversions for my scant free time. You may find them interesting, perhaps trying a few for yourself.

We have a nice setup on the lower level for watching movies. The home theater consists of a 58" 16x9 format Pioneer HDTV that will scan to 1080i (unfortunately no 720p). I've had this TV for about 7 years, and it is still awesome. I also have a progressive scan DVD, a Yamaha surround processor (will do DTS as well as Dolby Digital 5.1) and Comcast's HDTV converter. The mains are my trusty old Cerwin-Vega 3-ways with active crossovers and 12" woofers. I got these beasts in 1978 and have had them re-coned once. The center channel is a newer Cerwin-Vega 2 way with twin 8" speakers, the rear channels are in-ceiling mount Jamos, and the sub is a powered 200W 15" floor-firing Cerwin-Vega monster. The image is great, the sound awesome, and with the nearby wet bar, why go to the theater? We still do sometimes though - there's nothing quite like dinner and a movie as a nice date. By the way, we love our NetFlix account - it's great.
We love to eat - and we love to grill. Charcoal only, baby! When Patrisha does up a rack of her ribs, or marinates a couple Ribeyes her special way, I know I'm in for a treat. Some sweet corn still in the shucks, maybe some brats and some chicken wings and we're good to go. I grilled some Salmon the other day and it turned out fantastic - I'm gonna have to do that again.
I still try to get out and golf on occasion. I like it a lot, it's just hard to find time for it. There are some nice courses here in Minnesota, but the season is pretty short and the fees are kind of high (I think that's cause and effect), so I have to be pretty selective.
I have less time than I used to for gaming, but I still will play when I can. I have a page dedicated to gaming now where you can see the latest info on what I'm up to.
